Sarah Josephine (Temple) Keleher, age 81, resident of Sperry, passed from this life at the home of her daughter Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Sarah was born September 27, 1933 in Lakewood, Ohio to William F. and Sarah Watson (Thomas) Temple, Jr. She spent her early years in Ohio, before the family eventually made their home in Tulsa where she graduated from Marquette Catholic School. Sarah continued her education, receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse for St. John Medical Center, from which she retired. Sarah was an avid reader and enjoyed playing scrabble.
Those that survive and hold cherished memories are her children – Maggie VanSickle and husband Paul of Sperry, OK, Michael Keleher and Husband Van Lemmon of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers Tom Temple and wife Linda of Oklahoma City, OK, William Temple, III of Red Lodge, Montana; a sister Faith St. Marie of Las Cruces, New Mexico; grandchildren – Emily Keleher of Pinellas Park, Florida, Carter Keleher of Columbus, Ohio and great grandchildren Victoria and Thomas Cothran. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Betsy Temple Martin.
A Celebration of Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Emmaus Community Church, 632 West 12th Street, Tulsa, OK with Pastor Rusty Clyma officiating. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, that contributions in her memory be made to the local library of the giver’s choice. www.moweryfs.com
