Penelope Virginia “Penny” Robbins was born September 24, 1918, in Wickes, Arkansas, to Albert Clifford and Sara Margaret (Compton) Higginbottom. She died Thursday, August 11, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years. Penny completed her secondary education in Hatfield, Arkansas and later attended the University of Arkansas earning her Bachelors of Science Degree. She was a veteran of the armed forces having served her country honorably in the Philippines during World War II with the United States Army. She was married July 9, 1950, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to L. Burks Robbins. She worked a short time as a certified public accountant, but primarily spent her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. She had made her home in Owasso since 2006 at the Baptist Village where she enjoyed reading and spending time with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Albert Higginbottom and Clyde Higginbottom. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Baptist Village Alsup Chapel in Owasso with Reverend Andy Thomas officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made in Penny’s memory to a charity of your choice. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
